Watford is a town and district in Hertfordshire. It is situated 21 miles north-west of London and within the bounds of the M25 Motorway. Watford lies to the North of Greater London. Watford has an estimated population of 79,300. Watford became a municipal borough by grant of charter in 1922. Watford has several places of interest, these are Cassiobury Park: Green Flag Award winner in July 2007; Watford Colosseum: used to record the Lord of the Rings soundtracks; The Watford Palace Theatre: presents a selection of comedy, drama, pantomime & world premieres; and The Pumphouse Theatre and Arts Centre: featuring a 124 seat theatre, rehearsal rooms and a live music venue.
