It is great news for the local football club, as Car Hire Crawley report on the new sponsorship deal to rename the clubs ground. Although will the supporters be happy with a change in the clubs ground name.
A five year sponsorship deal has been agreed to rename Crawley Town’s stadium The Checktrade.com stadium. Some of the money from the sponsorship has been pledged to local community projects as the Borough Council owns the ground.
Councillor Duncan Crow, Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “We’re delighted to be able to help the football club generate much-needed income by agreeing to the renaming of the stadium. The club’s offer to help fund the Broadfield Youth and Community Centre is much appreciated.”
The logo of the company will appear on billboards around the pitch, training shirts and there is a plan to project the sponsors name directly on to the pitch if they get a televised game.
Crawley Town commercial manager Ewan Dunlop said: “This is a hugely significant partnership for the football club.”
Last week the club paid £100,000 for Peterborough United striker Emile Sinclair, with any more signings before the transfer deadline being unlikely.
