Then there are the Lochs of Scotland, with the most famous of them all Loch Ness. Loch Ness is a mysterious place that carries many stories and myths. At 230m deep, it is the largest body of fresh water in Britain which fuels the belief that a prehistoric creature inhabits the loch. There have been many sightings of this creature and there still remains a project on the loch that is constantly searching for the beastie! So, take yourself off in your motorhome to Loch Ness and see if you can get a glimpse Nessie yourself!
Scotland is also home to Britain's premier ski resort, situated in the Cairngorm Mountains is Aviemore. Britain is not famed for its extreme weather conditions but a good winter provides the Cairngorms with a significant covering of snow that attracts skiers and snowboarders from all over the UK and Europe. Also working in Aviemore's favour is the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, a monorail transport system built in 2001 leading to the top of the resort. This is the most modern form of ski lift and during the summer months will act as a ferry to the top of the Cairngorms. Our motorhomes would be the ideal accommodation whilst exploring the mountains of Scotland. Travelling to the far north of the country there is even more to keep you interested. As you are the captain of your recreational vehicle, why not take a tour of a group of islands that lie just off the north coast of Scotland known as the Orkney Islands. Home to a population of just under 20,000 people, the Orkneys are a wild and wonderful place and well worth a visit. Finally whilst you're up in the north you could visit the famous village of John O'Groats, Britain's most northerly point. All of these places are easily accessible in your motorhome and are reached by some of the most pleasurable routes in the UK.
