Car Hire Luton Airport are in full support of the project helping local people do good and find work.
A project in Luton is helping volunteers get back in to work, by getting them to help improve the town. A path has been created in Leagrave Park, in the ‘Rotten Corner’ area of the park, as part of the Green Skills Project.
Community charity Groundwork Luton & Bedfordshire partnered with Luton Borough Council and London Luton Airport Ltd to run the project, an employment programme that helps local people back into work, education or training.
The work also trained them for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme and the City & Guilds Health and Safety in a Construction Environment tests. Three volunteers have already passed the qualifications, with the rest going for their exams in the New Year.
The group celebrated their achievements on Thursday with several council members and representatives of local organisations in attendance. They will now receive another month of support from Groundwork to help them into their chosen professions.
