Increased international connections are set to take off from Aberdeen Airport as Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and Dubai’s Emirates Airlines announce a new codeshare agreement. The move looks to connect passengers with Flybe’s ‘One Stop to the World’ routes which can be booked through Emirates.com or a local travel agent.
From July 2015, Flybe passengers flying from Aberdeen Airport and onwards to Dubai with Emirates will be able to enjoy a convenient network of connecting travel options. With just one ticket, passengers will be able to connect seamlessly through Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and London Gatwick Airports, which are all served by Emirates Airlines, with Flybe flights to and from Aberdeen Airport.
Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “This new codeshare agreement with Emirates is yet another important milestone and an exciting development in the continued growth of Flybe. It allows us to give our UK customers a ‘One Stop to the World’ option with convenient, seamless access to Dubai and onwards to the rest of the world through our extensive regional route network, direct from passengers’ local airport.”
Emirates Airlines’ fleet of 230 aircraft currently serves over 140 destinations in more than 80 countries worldwide. Flybe currently has codeshare partnerships with Air France, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Cathay Pacific, KLM, Finnair and Etihad.
