The Car Hire Luton Airport team are also supportive of the plans to increase passenger numbers at the airport.
The planned expansion of Luton Airport has been welcomed by the new managing director of Monarch Airlines. The decision was made by Communities Secretary Eric Pickles to give the go ahead to the plan to increase the capacity, from twelve to eighteen million passengers a year.
New Monarch MD Andrew Swaffield said, “We are very supportive of the expansion, it is a great thing to see happen. As an airline we are happy to have such a long relationship with the town and a good one with the airport. The expansion should demonstrate the value of making a trip to Luton and it is great news for the town. It will make a big difference.”
Monarch has become the first airline to be awarded ‘WorldHost Recognised Business’ status. This was achieved after all the 1,690 staff undertook the intensive WorldHost customer service training programme. Mr Swaffield added, “It has been a big investment and it is really important to us to keep the customer at the core of what we do. Aviation can benefit from humanity and warmth so this fitted our vision.”
