Staff at Car Hire Edinburgh Airport love how well the technology giant is keeping the lid on when they will be opening the store in the city from the public.
The new Apple store has had near £1 million spent on it by the technology giant. There is still confusion as to when the store will be open, after ‘opening soon’ signs were taken down.
Senior business people in the city were none the wiser to when the store would be opening, as the company kept up its legendary iron-clad secrecy.
City centre councillor Karen Doran said “I’ve heard nothing at all about it, except that it’s going to be an Apple store, of course. I’ve never been in an Apple store myself, but I imagine it’s quite posh, so it’s not surprising that they’ve had a lot of work to do.”
The listed building the store will eventually occupy used to house the flagship branch of Woolworths in Edinburgh, but lay empty for several years before work began and it was placed on the at-risk register. The upper floors have been redeveloped into a hotel.
