Car Hire Birmingham Airport like to be aware of news of an airline increasing its business at the airport.
An airline at Birmingham Airport has increased its fleet, with the introduction of an extra aircraft. Eastern Airways, who have operated at the airport for over 11 years, are the leading provider of fixed wing air services for the oil and gas industry in the UK. It will enter the Saab 2000 into service over the coming weeks. The aircraft is on of the fastest turbo-prop aircraft with its two Rolls Royce engines.
The new aircraft is to be assigned to Eastern’s charter services for the oil and gas industry, which includes the recently awarded major contract with BP flying between Aberdeen and the Shetland Isles.
Paul Alcock, Eastern Airways’ managing director, said “The Saab 2000 is an extremely flexible aircraft that can operate on both short and longer runways, which is ideally suited to our long term charter services for the oil and gas industry. The aircraft type is also used on our scheduled network and to European destinations for ad-hoc charters.”
