Car Hire Birmingham Airport does hope that the airport has not been forgotten about, in the discussions of future increased aviation.
The Prime Minister has rejected suggestions that Birmingham Airport is being disregarded in the government’s long term strategy for aviation. David Cameron had recently visited the airport where the new £40 million runway was nearing completion.
Once completed it is claimed 4,000 new jobs at the airport would be created, plus a further 4,000 jobs in the supply chain. The new runway would increase passenger numbers, providing more opportunities for trade, business and jobs.
In the Davis Commission’s blueprint for the UK’s aviation strategy Coventry Airport was mentioned and would receive a new subsidy as part of the Budget along with several other regional airports.
