Birmingham City Keen to Extend Loan Signing

What a way to showcase yourself to your new team, as Car Hire Birmingham Airport staff are keeping their fingers crossed that the new loan signing proves to be the spark to get the team climbing the table.

The short term loan signing of Jesse Lingard, has already proved a big hit with Birmingham manager Lee Clark, after the Manchester United midfielder scored all four goals on his debut, he is keen to see the loan deal extended for a longer period.

Lee Clark said, “United want him in a team that’s doing well, and in helping us win, he ticked another box. They want him to play as much as possible. And Jesse has clearly already taken a liking to us. All I can do is point out what we’ve done with previously loan players. We’ve shown we can do well by these loan players. I saw Ravel Morrison score for West Ham at the weekend. He’s now doing well for them. And there are others. Dan Burn and Kyle Bartley are getting stronger with every game.”

Before the game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, Birmingham City had only scored four goals in seven matches. After the game this prompted some fans to compare him with Trevor Francis who scored four in a game in 1971.

Clark added, “I just wanted the lad to go out and show what he’s about and, if he gets a goal, then it’s a bonus. To have a debut like that was incredible. He lit up the place. You don’t get a chance to be at Manchester United if you’re not a talented footballer. I’ve chased him for a long time and it took a while to get it over the line. But it was good for him to play when there was a good team performance. Everyone was right at it. The fans will now be expecting five next time.”
