Birmingham City makes further signings to bolster squad

While the Car Hire Birmingham Airport branch think it is good to be signing new players, they just keep their fingers crossed that it means a season away from the relegation zone.

It is believed Birmingham City will be signing two more players to the squad for the 2014/15 Championship campaign. Manager Lee Clark is set to add Gavin Gunning from Dundee United and David Edgar from Burnley.

Both players will be joining the Midlands club on Bosman free transfers. Gunning was on the verge of signing for Sheffield Wednesday, but the Yorkshire club stopped the transfer after he failed a medical. The Blues will only go ahead with the deal if they feel sufficiently the problem is not serious. He was almost ever present for Dundee United last season.

While defender Edgar has been in talks with Lee Clark for a while, with the link between the two from Edgar’s time at Newcastle. The Canada international can play in defence but has operated in midfield on a number of occasions.
