The team at Car Hire Birmingham Airport are pleased one of their own youngsters has a chance to make a name for himself at a professional level for his local team.
Young Birmingham City defender and lifelong fan James Fry has signed a new contract with the Midlands team. The original contract was due to expire at the end of June, with a twelve month extension option. This has changed with fresh terms of a year with a further twelve month option included in the deal.
He has not had a great deal of first team action, but injury hampered his chances this term as he damaged ankle ligaments in training, while on loan at Leamington, meaning he was sidelined for over four months.
On his return he captained the under-21 team and boss Lee Clark included him in the first team squad for the home game against QPR in March, with the reason to give Fry a taste of being around a senior group of players.
