Birmingham manager felt final scoreline harsh on team

Trevor at Car Hire Birmingham Airport is pleased with the comments of the manager after the League Cup game.

Manager Lee Clark steered clear of any controversy with the officials after a key decision went against his Birmingham City side late in the game which led to the opening goal.

They were certain the ball had gone out of play in the build up to Jordi Gomez opening the scoring from 25 yards in the 77th minute of the game. Clark said, “I am not speaking about the officials. It didn’t matter if it was female or male, I was disappointed. I am going to go through the right channels. I have been told they will be ready waiting for me when I go in. I will have some footage for them. Maybe high up the pitch one or two players thought the ball had gone out. I’ll show them the footage and deal with it the right way.”

Clark was much more positive about the way his team had played and felt the result did not merit the hard-working performance. He added, “We played well, the scoreline does not do my players justice. The first goal goes in and players start chasing for the equaliser. And with the quality of Premier League players, when the game becomes stretched they pick you off, 3-0 was not a true reflection, we were more than a match for a very, very good team.”
