Emirates‘ new Dubai-to-Birmingham service is up and running for August 2015, adding seven more inbound flights a week to Birmingham. The new daily service is operated by a B777-300ER aircraft in a three-class setup. The plane will hold eight first class seats, 42 business class seats, and 310 economy class seats per day. Flight EK41 from Dubai arrived at Birmingham International Airport on August 1, 2015, at 0705hrs, UK time.
With the addition of the third daily service from Birmingham, Emirates now operates 119 non-stop flights per week from the UK to Dubai, bolstering the valuable business links between the UK and the United Arab Emirates.
Emirates flight EK41, operated by a B777-300ER, will depart Dubai International Airport daily at 0235hrs and arrive in Birmingham at 0705hrs. The outbound flight, EK42, will depart Birmingham Airport at 0910hrs and arrive in Dubai at 1910hrs. Emirates airline operates 119 non-stop flights per week from the UK to Dubai – five services a day from Heathrow, including three daily from London Gatwick and Manchester, three per day from Birmingham, two per day from Glasgow, and a daily service from Newcastle.
Emirates started flying to Birmingham in December 2000, and the second daily service was launched in 2005. In the 15 years since operations at Birmingham Airport began, Emirates has carried almost six million passengers to and from Birmingham, with around 600,000 passengers using the service in the 2014–15 financial year.
