Friday 14th of August 2015
This autumn the Blackburn and Darwen Comedy Festival returns, and promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Now in its ninth year, the Blackburn and Darwen Comedy Festival is held in the heart of the Lancashire town of Blackburn and attracts some of the biggest names in comedy.
The comedy festival, which is a sell-out event, will incorporate the town’s ever popular George’s Comedy Club night on the first Friday of each month, and this year’s dates are set to be Friday 4 September and Friday 2 October – so make sure that you book your tickets online in advance, to avoid disappointment.
As well as George’s Comedy Club Night, there will be some comedy giants in attendance this year, including Jimmy Carr, who will return to Blackburn with his hit Funny Business tour, and will be kicking off the festival on Friday 14 August. Don’t miss Flintoff and Holcroft: Balls Out 2015, a comedy performance from the champion English cricketer Freddie Flintoff and TV comedy producer Clyde Holcroft, which will be on Thursday 1 October. Other shows include Bill Bailey’s Limbo Land on 23 and 24 October; Paddy McGuinness’ Daddy McGuinness on 1 November; Stewart Francis’ Pun Gent on 12 November and an Evening with Noel Fielding on 28 November.
All tickets can be bought online for the event, and new acts are being announced all the time, so make sure to keep checking the website and the event’s social media pages.
