Pick up your Easirent hire car from our Blackburn depot and head to the Blackburn Heritage Festival 2015.
The festival, which will take place over 12 and 13 September 2015, encourages visitors to discover the history of the town centre and celebrate Blackburn’s proud history of manufacturing and invention.
There will be over 100 events and activities to keep all ages entertained, including a vintage fairground complete with helter skelter, a vintage marketplace, a pop-up bandstand and street theatre.
Park up your Easirent hire car in one of the council’s car parks, which are all free to use throughout the event, and take a journey on a hop-on hop-off bus, which will take in all of the sites from Corporation Park to Eanham Wharf. It is definitely worth taking a stroll around Corporation Park and visiting its stunning Grade II listed Victorian Palm House, which has a beautiful glass conservatory.
The Blackburn Heritage Festival has been planned to coincide with the council’s proposed Heritage Open Days and guests can celebrate Blackburn’s proud past in style with clog dancing, canal trips and history walks.
There will be a book signing with British fashion designer Patrick Grant, who is best known for appearing on the television series, BBC Sewing Bee. Guests can also explore one of the UK’s first purpose built electric light cinemas in the UK on the Thwaite’s Empire Theatre Backstage Tour.
Take the children along to the Festival of Making and celebrate Blackburn’s rich textile industry past.
