London is a city that is overflowing with cultural offerings, around every corner tourists can find something that they can watch or get involved in, whether it be a street performer, a bustling marketplace or one of the capital’s popular theatre venues.
If you’re looking to visit one of the city’s stunning opera houses but find the price a little steep then you can enjoy the show free of charge at one of the BP Big Screens.
BP Big Screens 2015 is a free event which will see live opera and ballet performances streamed live from the Royal Opera House to a giant screen that has been erected in Trafalgar Square for all to enjoy. This year there will be two operas and one ballet streamed during the summer evenings. The award-winning production of Puccini’s La Boheme staring opera stars Anna Netrebko and Joseph Calleja will be streamed as well as Mozart’s Don Giovanni which features a spectacular set and features Christopher Maltman as the compelling anti-hero.
This year’s ballet is the Royal Ballet’s stunning adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet which will be accompanied by a memorable score from Prokofiev. Make sure you head down early to Trafalgar Square on 22 September 2015 to get the best vantage point and make the most of this fantastic free event.
