Stagecoach has launched its first 24/7 coach service for the south west region of England. The service, which was launched on Valentine’s Day has had £2.5 million investment, with the addition of eight brand new, state of the art, wi-fi enabled coaches.
The coaches will be making 19 journeys a day between Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Bristol Airport and Bristol City Centre, which allows a greater amount of travel options for passengers arriving at and departing from Bristol Airport during any time of the day and night.
The service, which has been named Falcon, is a cost-effective alternative to the train, with starting launch prices only £1 per passenger per journey. From 27 February onwards, the price of a ticket will be £5, making the journey extremely worthwhile.
Bob Dennison, managing director of Stagecoach South West commented on the new Falcon coaches:
“Falcon is a bold new step in making it easier for people to travel across the region. It’s a ‘round the clock’ service between the main towns and cities across the South West plus Bristol Airport.
“I am confident this new 24/7 connection will prove extremely popular with commuters, University students, shoppers, day trippers and, of course, holidaymakers flying from Bristol.”
