It is good that many residents were there to show their support against the runway options according to the Gatwick Airport Car Hire team, as it gives many a chance to get questions answered rather than complaining but not supporting the group.
Horsham felt the view of campaigners against Gatwick Airport’s new flight paths at the weekend. Over one hundred people marched to the Drill Hall in Denne Road where the airport was holding its next exhibition as part of it’s consultation on runway options.
It was members of the Communities Against Gatwick Noise and Emissions (CAGNE) who took part in the walk with Sally Pavey, chair of CAGNE, said “A real mix of ages walked and gathered on the steps of Drill Hall before going in to ask questions about new flight paths, lack of infrastructure, mass house building to accommodate inward migrating workers to fill jobs, removal of woodlands and floodplains being built on, road congestion and the emissions from the road and sky.”
The group formed when flights paths were changed to trial options over a different area near to Gatwick Airport. The consultation period closes on May 16th.
