Marbella’s Old Town has a history that dates back to the 16th century. Hire a car and explore the winding streets, visit the traditional shops, cafes, art galleries, and enjoy the many plazas lined with orange trees. The Old Town offers an alternative to the lively resort, with the slower pace and rich atmosphere. To truly appreciate the rugged beauty of the area, hire a 4×4 and drive along Marbella’s two mile coastline on to the Sierra Bermeja Mountains that preside the resort.

Thanks to Marbella’s excellent climate it boasts a great selection of water parks, modern and clean with a good selection of food. Aqualand (Torremolinos) is the largest water park on the Costa del Sol, the Parque Acuatico Mijas Water Park is just outside the town of Fuengirola, and Aqua Veils Water Park located on the Eastern side of the Costa Del Sol.

Visit Gibraltar and cross the border from into British territory, just one and half hours drive by car from Malaga Airport (AGP). Enjoy the duty free shopping, see British policemen, and spend British money. Take a tour to the top of Gibraltar, where you can see views of Spanish and Moroccan coastline. On the rock you can visit the caves and grottos meet the local residence Barbary macaque monkeys.

Malaga Airport (AGP) offers flight connections to over 70 destinations worldwide, with 13 million passengers in 2011. The majority of flights are European, however there are regular flights to Russia, USA and Canada. Located 8 kilometres out of the city centre, it is with easy access to the motorway and to the many hot spots of the Costa Del Sol. The airport operates out of three terminals, with a second runway expected in the beginning of 2012. The airport is of the oldest in Spain opening in 1919 and has always remained in its location. When tourism to Spain became more popular in the 1960’s the single runway was extended and a new terminal way built, and in 1968 a new passenger terminal was opened.

The Malaga Airport Hotel is available for passengers that require accommodation prior to your departure. If you have hold baggage the airport advises that passengers check in at Terminal Two in the departures hall, where you will be directed through to Terminal Three to pass security and passport control. While you wait for your flight there are many duty free shops and a selection of restaurants and bars.
