Malaga Airport (AGP) offers flight connections to over 70 destinations worldwide, with 13 million passengers in 2011. The majority of flights are European, however there are regular flights to Russia, USA and Canada. Located 8 kilometres out of the city centre, it is with easy access to the motorway and to the many hot spots of the Costa Del Sol. The airport operates out of three terminals, with a second runway expected in the beginning of 2012. The airport is of the oldest in Spain opening in 1919 and has always remained in its location. When tourism to Spain became more popular in the 1960’s the single runway was extended and a new terminal way built, and in 1968 a new passenger terminal was opened.
The Malaga Airport Hotel is available for passengers that require accommodation prior to your departure. If you have hold baggage the airport advises that passengers check in at Terminal Two in the departures hall, where you will be directed through to Terminal Three to pass security and passport control. While you wait for your flight there are many duty free shops and a selection of restaurants and bars.
