Tuesday 10th of November 2015
Cardiff is putting the city’s dance talent under the spotlight this November, with a 12-day long festival celebrating both local performers and those from around the world. The festival has been designed to ignite passion in those who may have never considered dance before, as well as show off the talents already performing. It takes place over a number of Cardiff venues and runs from 10th until 22nd November.
Cardiff Dance Festival includes performances at the Dance House, Wales Millennium Centre and Chapter Arts Centre. It is designed to make dance even more popular in the city and will include workshops and masterclasses as well as performances to watch. The theme of the festival is rooted in Cardiff, with a local feel but there will also be several international organisers coming to the city to perform and take part. The international performances include a UK debut from Belgian choreographer Jan Martens and as a brand new event to the city there is a huge amount of buzz around the event, attracting dance companies from around the rest of the UK.
The venues used for the festival are all centrally located, ideal for visitors to the city as well as locals. Popping into any of the sites is easy from central accommodation or even if you’re driving your Easirent hire car straight from the airport. As the first festival of its kind in Cardiff, they will be using it to build a foundation for modern dance in Cardiff and encourage a new passion and interest in the art form.
