The Chinese National Peking Opera Company is returning to the United Kingdom this winter for the first time in 10 years and its set to be a spectacular event. The opera company has chosen to visit Liverpool as its only other UK venue outside of London and will be performing two masterpieces: The Warrior Women of Yang and Farewell My Concubine.
This is an unmissable opportunity to witness the fine art of the China National Peking Opera Company in all of its spectacular glory as it proves to audiences why it is one of China’s most pre-eminent performance companies. Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in the beautiful performance of the Peking Opera Company’s cultural heritage and the Chinese artistic heritage.
Taking place from 13 to 15 November 2015, The Warrior Women of Yang is a story of grief, courage, patriotism and family loyalty and the mesmerising tale is told by the 50-strong cast through music and song, mime, costumes, painted faces, combat and acrobatics. The opera company’s second offering Farewell My Concubine is a renowned global classic – a harrowing story of political unrest, combat and honour; this classic love story explores the themes of lost battles and pride.
The Echo Arena is situated next to a 1600 space car park which charges a £6 fee to park your car during an event, so you can relax, knowing that your Easirent hire car is safely parked during the evening.
