Leicester’s popular Winter Food Festival is back on 22nd November and it has been organised to celebrate the start of the Christmas season in the city. The seventh annual Winter Food Market is destined to be a buzz of festive activity, with over 150 stalls serving moreish food and drink all from local producers and as well as the food there will be stalls selling unique, handmade crafts just in time for Christmas.
The Winter Food Festival takes over Leicester Market on 22nd November and is free to enter, making it great for browsing as well as buying. The emphasis of the whole festival is artisan, homemade and locally grown goods, with a huge range of diversity offered. It has been organised to coincide with the Christmas Lights Switch On event at Humberstone Gate West so it’s a great opportunity to make the most of both events in the city.
Leicester Market is based centrally in the city and visitors coming in from East Midlands airport have just under 20 miles to drive, with plenty of car parking in the city centre.
The food on offer at Leicester’s Winter Food Festival is so diverse it’s hard to know where to start. There will be everything from American style BBQ meats, spicy Caribbean dishes and vegetarian meals There will be locally produced curries and meat pies as well as brew you own beer kits and plenty of potential Christmas gifts. The event also has an entertainment programme which include live cooking demos, performances from local choirs, face painting for the kids and much more.
