Request a

Crawley festival to explore the funny side of science

The team at Car Hire Crawley think the latest festival to be added to the summer schedule will be well worth going and advise anyone with families to take their children.

The more humorous side of science is to be explored in Crawley in June as part of the STEMfest festival. With the support of the Manor Royal Business Group, a comedy evening on June 10th will take place at the Gatwick School Manor Royal. The aim of the evening is to encourage more children to get involved with science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

Jo McKinney, STEM Sussex Project Manager, said “We want people from Manor Royal, many of whom are already supporting Crawley STEMfest, to join us in a relaxed and informal setting to find out more about STEM and why we should encourage young people to study in these areas.”

The event will feature musical comedy by Helen Arney, who has appeared on Channel four, Radio three and BBC2, plus she presents on the Discovery Channel’s ‘You have been warned’ programme.

At the evening alongside Helen will be biologist Simon Watt, who is also a science writer and TV presenter. Simon presented the BAFTA award-winning documentary series ‘Inside nature’s giants’.
