Travel back through the ages this summer with ‘Dinosaurs Returns’ at Edinburgh Zoo.
Following this month’s release of ‘Jurassic World’, the latest in the ‘Jurassic Park’ series of films, our dinosaur taste buds are certainly tingling – and is there anything better than experiencing them in real life?
Edinburgh Zoo’s ‘Dinosaurs Returns’ aims to educate both children and adults alike about why the dinosaurs became extinct millions of years ago, while raising awareness of the very real threat of modern day extinction for many of the world’s most endangered species.
The amazing, life-size animatronic model dinosaurs, which include 11 adults, two babies and a nest, have taken residence atop a hill in Edinburgh’s famous zoo, and are open to visitors from June 1st – November 30th 2015.
Nestled in the midst of a specially created landscape, visitors can explore the terrain that was home to the dinosaurs, and take a personal tour led by an expert Dinosaur Keeper.
There will also be plenty of events taking place during the action packed summer with a series of daily dinosaur talks for all to enjoy. Experience the ‘Roarsome Dinosaurs’ from 11:00, which entertains guests with adaptations of dinosaurs and different animals from around the zoo. At 14:30 there is a ‘Predator vs Prey’ talk, followed by an ‘Extinction Challenge’ at 16:00, which teaches of why the dinosaurs became extinct and the reasons behind modern day extinction.
No need to book a time slot for your visit, but the usual zoo entry fee will apply to all visitors wanting to experience ‘Dinosaurs Returns’ at Edinburgh Zoo.
