This winter, get closer to nature at the Martin Mere Wetland Centre in Burscough as LEGO animals take over the park and are guaranteed to surprise and delight the entire family. Located just a 30 minute drive from our Easirent pick up point in Preston, families are invited to take part in the LEGO brick trail and spot as many different birds and animals as they can. The giant LEGO figures will be calling Martin Mere home until 31 January 2016, so make sure that you don’t miss out.
The trial will include 10 individually designed LEGO brick characters, which will stand at 1.5 metres tall and they will have been inspired by real species of birds that visitors can find at Martin Mere. The figures include a large North AMerican River Otter, a Hawaiian Goose and a flamingo.
Martin Mere’s General Manager, Nick Brooks said:
“We are very excited to welcome this new species to WWT Martin Mere for the winter. The characters look fantastic. We can’t wait for them to be out in the wetlands surrounded by wildlife and think our visitors will be bowled over by them. Families love being around nature at WWT Martin Mere and the LEGO® brick trail is a fun way of putting the spotlight on some really important species, many of which are endangered”
Martin Mere is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00 and admission prices vary from £5.90 to £12.20 – family bundles cost £32.50.
