Easirent started business on the 14th November 1999 from Queen street, Wigan, Lancashire. With a modest fleet of 15 vans and 6 cars, the company expanded to an office in Bootle, Merseyside (now the main fleet centre) growing the fleet to 80 vans and 10 cars within 12 months.
Still predominantly based around commercial vehicles, Easirent operated out of 6 branches in the North West of the UK. During 2005 Easirent expanded to the Midlands with a location in Wolverhampton and the South East with a location in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
During the recession of 2008 Easirent changed its focus from the commercial vehicle market to the retail car rental market. Branches were opened around airports across the UK, with the closure of some locations based in small towns.
Easirent’s expansion into the retail car rental market continued rapidly through 2013-2015 with locations at all major UK airports. 2015 saw the expansion move into Southern Ireland with the opening of an airport location in Dublin and plans to open 5 in 2016.
