East Midland Airport has teamed up with Eurowings to create a brand new route to and from the airline’s largest location in Düsseldorf.
The new route, which will operate a daily service (except for Saturdays), will begin on 27 March 2016 and is expected to bring a lot of footfall to East Midlands Airport, which offers brilliant access to the local areas of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby.
Additionally, the new route to Düsseldorf offers great connections to other European destinations from East Midlands Airport. Tourists flock to Dusseldorf, which is Germany’s seventh largest city, to take in the cultural offerings. Dusseldorf is renowned for its links to electronic music and its academy of fine arts, as well as plenty of other tourist activities for the whole family. Dusseldorf is also home to a thriving business and financial centre, so the new connecting flight from East Midlands Airport is perfect for business travellers.
Andy Cliffe, managing director of East Midlands Airport said:
“We are delighted to welcome Eurowings to East Midlands Airport for the first time. This new connection to Dusseldorf will significantly enhance connectivity into Germany.
“Dusseldorf is a vibrant city, offering both a superb leisure destination and a thriving business hub, being home to five of the Global fortune 500″
