Car Hire Edinburgh Airport think it is great news for the airport with their flight punctuality performance.
Edinburgh Airport passengers enjoyed top punctuality for autumn last year according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). With 85% of scheduled flights being on time between September and December, it was one percent better than the same period in 2012. The figure covers both arrivals and departures and is only one percent lower than the best achieved performance of 86% between April and June 2013.
CAA group director for regulatory policy Iain Osborne said “Whilst it is pleasing to see the majority of passengers arrived at their destination in good time at the end of last year, our figures show that too many people still had their flights disrupted by delays. We also know there were a number of cancellations during December that will have disrupted other passengers. Some severe weather clearly played a part in this, but there is still room for improvement.”
Of the 23,000 flights covered in the autumn the average delay remained at nine minutes, which is six minutes under the 15 minute time scale to be judged leaving on time.
