Car Hire Edinburgh Airport are proud of the latest awards handed out to building project in the city.
Awards have been handed out to three building projects in Edinburgh at the prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) annual gathering at the Sheraton Hotel. There were forty-nine short-listed entries with the best for building conservation went to the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, with Atria Edinburgh and EICC Expansion winning the commercial section award. The residential category winner was Gateway Apartments Student Accommodation.
The occasion showcases the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment. The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation transformed the University of Edinburgh’s 18th Century Old High School into a modern energy efficient teaching facility.
Chair of RICS Scotland judging panel, Laura Hall MRICS said, “A joint effort by the three universities in Edinburgh to create a world class facility.”
Sarah Speirs, Director RICS Scotland, said “This year RICS Scotland’s Awards have attracted over 50 outstanding and exemplar entries, despite the ongoing uncertainty of the economic climate. These projects demonstrate the quality of projects and talent of property professionals in Scotland as we continue to produce impressive built schemes.”
Other winners on the night included the Dundee Waterfront taking the accolade for the infrastructure category and the brand new SSE Hydro in Glasgow winning the tourism and leisure award.
