The football fans at Car Hire Edinburgh Airport are pleased to hear one of their Scottish clubs is back on the right track after a worrying year.
This must be great news for all the supporters living in Edinburgh as Hearts are not in administration any more, with official documents being lodged with the Court of Session in Edinburgh. This is just a week short of a year since an administrator was appointed with the club having debts of around £30 million.
Hearts owner Ann Budge released a statement which said, “We kept going and it’s wonderful that we’re here, eventually. There have been many days when I thought there were just too many challenges facing us but we didn’t lose hope. We want to get a really strong management team in place – I don’t just mean on the field, off the field as well – and basically ensure that this club never has to go through this again. When we do hand the club over to the fans in a few years’ time, it will be in the best possible shape.”
Another problem with being in administration was an embargo stopping the club signing players, but this ban can now be lifted with the club formally out of administration, giving director of football Craig Levein the chance to bring in players. They have been linked with Hamilton Academical forward James Keatings, plus speculation is suggesting Rudi Skacel with a return to Hearts.
