Car Hire Edinburgh Airport think it is a fantastic achievement to be named third best city in the UK.
It has been ranked the third best city to live and work in the UK by the Good Growth for Cities index. Edinburgh beat places such as Oxford, Cambridge, Leeds, Belfast, and Cardiff.
The report measures the performance of 39 of the UK’s largest cities against 11 categories defined by the public and business as key to economic success and personal and family wellbeing, such as jobs, health, income, skills, work-life balance, house-prices, travel-to-work times and pollution.
City council economy leader Frank Ross said “Edinburgh is the most prosperous UK city outside London, according to the Office for National Statistics. It is very encouraging to see PWC have concluded that this growth is also balanced and sustainable.”
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said “As Cities Minister, I am delighted that our cities have such a strong showing in this report, taking two of the top three positions and performing well in key measures including work life balance, travel to work times and housing affordability.”
