If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the action-packed streets of Edinburgh during its world famous Fringe Festival season this summer, then hop in your Easirent hire car and head to the relaxed Fringe by the Sea Festival which is located just outside of the city in the quaint seaside town of North Berwick.
Running from 10 August to 16 August, this bijou festival has an impressive line up of performers, comedians, singers and dancers for all of the family to enjoy.
Located on North Berwick’s famous harbour side and throughout the town, the festival is spread across venues that include the Parisian Palais des Glaces and La Gaiete Spiegletents, which have been imported especially for the festival.
Acts will include the word famous Joan Armatrading, who will be entertaining festival-goers with her folk, rock and blues songs in an intimate setting. There will also be an opportunity to catch some of the best tribute acts on the circuit at the moment, including Scottish Super Troopers, who are an ABBA tribute act and Dirty Harry, a Blondie tribute band.
There will be plenty of entertainment for the younger members of the audience in the form of Mr Boom, who has come all the way from the moon, to get the children up singing and dancing.
On the Friday, there will be a whole host of famous comic faces who have travelled to the Fringe by the Sea Festival straight from the Edinburgh Comedy Fringe Festval, including the likes of Alan Davies, Barry Cryer, Ronnie Golden and Sean Cullen.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased online – get yours in advance to avoid missing out.
