Staff at the Car Hire Glasgow Airport branch know the coming months are just going to get even busier for car hire, as sporting events and school holidays will be some of factors keeping the staff working hard.
Glasgow Airport is enjoying the rewards of moves by a number of airlines adding capacity on European routes resulting in growth in passenger numbers for May. The figures revealed a 4.3% increase on numbers from May 2013
Amanda McMillan, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said “May always gives us a taste of what to expect during our busiest months, with the summer timetable well under way and a real buzz in the terminal. With less than 50 days to go until the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, our focus now is to ensure that our multi-million-pound investment programme is completed in time. The check-in hall is looking fantastic and the improvements we are making to the international arrivals area are well under way.”
The growth was driven by airlines Thomson, Lufthansa and KLM adding flights on some of the European routes, plus some of the long haul flights had seen extra capacity added.
