Starting off in the North West of England, there’s some eggceptionally good fun to be had at Stockley Farm Park. Celebrate all things Spring with lambs a-plenty, bunnies a-bouncing and goats galore! From 01 Apr 2017 – 18 Apr 2017, 10am-5pm there will be the opening meet of the ever popular Stockley Stakes Sheep Racing season on 8th & 9th April, with warm-up races the week before… let’s hope your bet is on the winner! Over the Easter Weekend (14-17th April) there will be some eggstra special activities for you to get involved in… take part in Easter egg hunts, meet the Easter Bunny herself and of course, scrumptious chocolates for all! It’ll be cracking fun for everyone!
Moving to central England there are a couple of options in Staffordshire with Biddulph Grange Gardens. See the charming National Trust garden in Biddulph, taking in glorious landscapes from Italy to China, the Egyptian pyramids to the Himalayan glens. But don’t forget to keep your eyes open, high and low, for the Easter bunnies from Friday 30th March – Monday 2nd April (10am-5pm). Pick up your map and follow the bunnies on an adventure around the garden. Easter also offers the chance to take part in the Easter Bonnet competition at Emma Bridgewater’s Factory, Stoke-on-Trent where you can design your own headgear. There is also an Easter trail and the opportunity to decorate an Easter bunny, duck or hen.
For car hire customers in the South of England there are a few options to consider, heading to Sussex with Stanmer House, enjoy Circus Workshops, Nature Trail Treasure Hunts, Press Play Film’s Animation workshops, Permaculture’s Apple Pressing, Yoga for kids aged 6 – 11yrs, Chill Squad mindfulness for families, The Outdoors Project Adventure Clubs and Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Wild Woodies Holiday Club. And every Saturday from 10am–3pm, Kids’ Table – supervised arts and crafts, lots of fun, with food for kids whilst parents relax! in the beautiful country house.
Or in the Southwest, if you’re slipping into a chocolate coma and fancy something a bit more traditional, Lyme Regis in Dorset is famous for its annual Easter Bonnet Parade. Decorate your bonnet with flowers, fruit (or anything really) and meet at the Baptist Church Hall for judging on Easter Day 2pm, then parade through the streets of Lyme Regis. There is also an egg hunt with a twist at Lyme Regis’s Town Mill (March 25- April 10). Children can take part in a Bunny Hunt and win a prize by seeking out ten ‘grain bunnies’ hidden amongst the ancient beams of this medieval building.
Moving over the national boarders into Wales and Scotland and with car hire from Easirent the Easter break may be the time to take a sensory safari as you explore the smells, sights, sounds, tastes and feel of beautiful Bodnant Garden in North Wales. The Trail gives you an amazing insight into the natural world (plus the perfect excuse for a stroll around this amazing green space). Best of all, the Trail is included as part of Bodnant’s normal admission price. Or maybe become a master chocolatier in Scotland. Get creative with the kids at the Cocoa Bean Company near Dumfries and decorate your own chocolate eggs with all sorts of delicious decorations. The Cocoabean Company is a family-run chocolate factory where expert chocolatiers make and decorate exquisite treats and you can sample them for yourself. This chocolate factory is based in a purpose-built site, which has chocolate workshops with glass viewing walls, a large café area and extensive indoor and outdoor play areas.
These are just a small selection of many choices all around the UK, so be inspired this Easter from Easirent and take out a car hire to explore places with the whole family. You can hire a family-size car for less than £12 a day this Easter 2018 so get your booking in soon before availabilty ends!
