Fans raising money for Foo Fighters gig in Birmingham

Fan togetherness can achieve wonderful things, with Car Hire Birmingham Airport staff hoping the gig in the city does get accepted.

Over £90,000 has been raised by a group of British Foo Fighter fans trying to get the rock band to play a gig in Birmingham. After a successful project in Richmond, Virginia in America by fans there, when the band agreed to play, now a similar project is under way here.

The venture was launched on Kickstarter on 19th September and has already passed more than half of their £150,000 target. Around 800 people have pledged at least £50, corresponding to one ticket in the hope that the Foo Fighters will accept their invitation to play a 2015 show in Birmingham.

The Foo Fighters recently played a handful of English gigs, performing three ‘secret’ club shows before headlining at London’s Invictus Games. They have yet to respond to the Birmingham crowd funding campaign.
