Festival that began in Edinburgh will expand away from the city

It is great when a new festival gets positive feedback and Car Hire Edinburgh Airport can reveal a festival that is in its infancy years, going through a major increase in the number of planned events.

A festival of Scottish history that is new in creation has doubled in size in just twelve months meaning it will be expanding outside Edinburgh to become a nationwide event. The festival called ‘Previously’ which was launched only two years ago, features 275 different events, including the debate around the independence of the country and some of the regular things like tours, talks, live music and poetry.

There will be a permanent residence for the event next month ‘Scotland’s History Festival’ at the historic Adam House building on Chambers Street. Events will also be taking place in Midlothian, Glasgow, Stirling, Dunfermline and a planned visit to Loch Ness this year.

Among the politically-themed events will be those looking at the impact of Margaret Thatcher’s “sermon on The Mound,” the 1979 independence referendum, the changes on offer if the nation votes for independence and who actually owns Scotland’s land.
