Fiji could Boycott Glasgow Commonwealth Games

Tom from Car Hire Glasgow Airport thinks something can be sorted to allow one of the top rugby seven nations compete at the Commonwealth Games this summer.

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games may not feature Fiji this summer after being told its rugby seven team cannot take part. The nation was given the go-ahead eleven days ago.

Reg Sanday, head of Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee said, “Our sevens rugby team has proven to the world by winning the World Cup twice that we can win medals at the Commonwealth Games. Imagine Brazil going to the Olympics without its soccer team or Jamaica running at the games without world champion Usain Bolt?”

As one of the biggest names in world rugby sevens, have won medals in the past with Commonwealth silver in 1998 and 2002, plus a bronze in 2006 in Melbourne.
