The development would be a positive change according to Car Hire Stansted Airport with new homes giving the area a lift.
A former hotel of Stansted Airport looks set to become a development of 13 two-story homes. Bushmead Homes Ltd has asked the District Council for planning permission to demolish the motel buildings at the 1.06 acre site.
The area has been disused for a number of years and it has been the target of vandalism and fly tipping in the past. It has already had permission accepted previously for 13 dwellings, with the latest proposal for two, three, four and five bedroom properties.
In its design and access statement, Bushmead argues “The new Priors Green development has changed the local area significantly. The new neighbourhood comprising around 720 new dwellings within the locality of the site is made up of predominantly large, detached two-storey dwellings. This proposed new development will sit alongside the existing development and offers a range of detached and semi-detached properties to further complement the existing mix.”
