Leicester City FC have got off to a dream start in the new Barclays Premier League season, with 7 points from a possible 9. The East Midlands club, also known as the Foxes, were hotly-tipped to be relegated last season, after bad luck and a series of disappointing results left them stranded at the bottom of the table. However, the club managed to turn their fortunes around, and went on an unbelievable run of form in April and May, with home wins against West Ham, Swansea, Newcastle, and Southampton ensuring they remained in the Barclays Premier League. It was widely-considered one of the most formidable ‘great escapes’ in Premier League history. Now, 3 games into their 2015/16 campaign, wins against West Ham and Sunderland mean that Leicester are sitting pretty at the top of the table with 7 points, second only to Manchester City with 9.
There’s a long way to go in the season, with 35 games still to be played, but this as good a start to their campaign as newly-appointed manager Claudio Ranieri could have hoped for.
Leicester’s next home game is a Midlands derby against premier league veterans Aston Villa, which will take place on Saturday 13th September 2015 at the King Power Stadium. If you fancy catching the action in person, the stadium is just a 30-minute drive from Easirent site at East Midlands Airport.
