Gatwick Airport passengers have faced delays this weekend of well over 1 hour.
Gatwick officials have been quick to apologise to Airport passengers after it was revealed baggage handling firm Swissport have been experiencing staff shortages.
Gatwick Airport’s management team, as a goodwill gesture, agreed to send their bags to passengers who waited more than 1 hour.
An LGW Airport spokeswoman said: “Gatwick would like to apologise for the longer than usual wait for bags some passengers have experienced this weekend.
“We are working closely with the ground handling teams at Gatwick, who are employed directly by our airlines, to improve delivery speed and service levels.”
Swissport was not available for comment.
