Getting value for money is a factor Car Hire Gatwick Airport are very familiar with, but there is concern that train network is not quite offering the same experience.
Seen by many as a great travel frustration, booking a cheap holiday and then finding out the cost of the journey to the airport has increased the overall value of the trip. New research has found that there is a frustration of how much holidaymakers have to pay to reach their aircraft if they choose to take the train. GatwickAirport along with other London hubs, scored less than 3 out of 5 stars, on the subject of value for money, the Gatwick Express which runs from Victoria Station scored the lowest of all the options to GatwickAirport.
Richard Lloyd, executive director of Which? says, “the survey reveals enormous disparities in the price of airport rail services which causes passenger frustrations. There are unacceptably wide differences in the levels of customer satisfaction for airport trains, with many people unhappy about the high cost of some express services. Train companies must do more to listen to travellers’ views.”
The survey questioned 1510 people, asking them to base their scores on overall satisfaction, and would they recommend a given service to a friend. The survey also found that airports outside the capital served better to customers travelling by train.
