Car Hire Gatwick Airport are pleased the March figures are positive for the airport with regards to passenger numbers.
The European and long-haul routes brought Gatwick Airport a successful March as passenger numbers were up 5.1% on last years figures, even without the Easter break which has fallen later this year.
Chief Executive Stewart Wingate said, “This has been a successful and exciting year for Gatwick that has seen steady growth, the completion of spending over £1bn on improving the passenger experience and offering new routes that satisfy the demands of business and leisure travellers. These successes only add to the obvious case for expansion at Gatwick.”
The airport is vying with Heathrow to get recommendation from the Airport’s commission as the site for Britain’s next runway. Traffic in the last twelve months has risen by 4.8% to nearly 35.9 million passengers.
