Car Hire Gatwick Airport are going to be keeping an eye out for the results of the public consultations on the choice of runway.
The three options Gatwick Airport has for its second runway has gone out for public consultation. The Government review into the need for extra capacity also has the plans. All the options involve building a new runway to the south, parallel with the existing one, but there is a legal agreement for no construction until 2019.
Gatwick Airport chief executive Stuart Wingate said, “The views of the local community are an essential element in shaping Gatwick’s second runway options.” The public consultation ends on 16th May, with the results due in the summer.
There are three options in the pipeline, but The Gatwick Area Conservation Campaign (GACC) is not so happy with them. GACC chairman, Brendon Sewill, “Gatwick is inviting the public to bet on a horse that has been declared a non-runner – something that no honest bookmaker would ever do.”
