The staff at the Easirent Car Hire branch at Gatwick Airport think that these next round of consultations involving aircraft noise will not go smoothly.
There is a large area of Surrey which is included on a map marking out communities that could well be affected by increased aircraft noise from Gatwick Airport. It is part of the second phase of Gatwick Airport’s programme to modernise routes in and out of the airport and try to avoid built up areas.
There will be public consultations held with the maps showing where these potential new flight paths will go, with feedback given either on-line or through the relevant MPs and councillors.
Tom Denton, head of corporate responsibility at London Gatwick, said “Our local residents and communities are a key priority when it comes to airspace change. We want to minimise noise for as many people as we possibly can – and where that’s not possible – offer respite options as a mitigating measure. We urge all local communities to have their say in this second phase so we can benefit as many people as possible.”
