Gatwick requires two new runways to stay competitive

This must go down as shocking news for the bosses at the airport according to the staff working at the Gatwick Airport Easirent Car Hire branch.

For the UK to remain economically competitive, Gatwick Airport needs to play its part with two new international runways according to Sir Richard Branson. Heathrow is also included plus building a new airport to keep on top of future demand.

The current expansion plans do not go far enough in the view of the Virgin Atlantic founder, who said, “We urgently need those extra runways at Heathrow and Gatwick or we’ll go backwards. But even if the extra runways are built at Heathrow and Gatwick, they would only ‘do’ for 20 years. In order to maintain and improve the UK’s economic performance. The UK would also need to build a brand new international airport, complete with new trade routes.”

He even sighted the continued delays that have spoiled the process for deciding how and where to expand Britain’s airport capacity. He added, “That’s the problem with us: all we do is sit around not making a decision.”
