London Gatwick Airport has announced that it will be launching the new world-first GatwickConnects, an innovative booking service which promises to offer customers greater choice and value when booking their flights from London Gatwick Airport.
The service will ensure that passengers have peace of mind when booking through the service, as late or delayed flights often have repercussions or knock on effects with regards to connecting flights. GatwickConnects enables separate flights to be booked in one easy transaction and ensures that it safeguards connections in the event that flights don’t run as scheduled.
London Gatwick Airport is the United Kingdom’s largest route network and serves 11 airports in the United Kingdom, 190 international airports and sees over one million passengers pass through its doors each year.
Stewart Wingate, CEO of Gatwick Airport commented on the new booking service:
“Gatwick is a competitive and innovative airport that can respond quickly to the changing way people are choosing to fly. We are uniquely placed to offer a service like GatwickConnects, due to the breadth of our route network and our diverse short and long haul airline mix.
“This new service will provide outstanding choice for passengers, as well as genuine savings, and we will offer travellers a range of hassle free check-in, baggage handling and hospitality benefits while they are with us.
“GatwickConnects is the latest example of the better standards, choice and competition travellers have enjoyed since BAA’s monopoly of airports was broken up. Gatwick remains the best and most deliverable option to deliver the runway that UK consumers need.”
