This one is all about Scotland as the Car Hire Edinburgh Airport and Car Hire Glasgow Airport branches will be joining as one to support their athletes this summer. The excitement surrounding the games begins as passengers fly into both airports.
Courtesy of a donation from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports will have had a makeover on prime sites at both hubs. They will be showcasing vibrant, fun and inspiring images from around the Commonwealth. There will be images, branding and a Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games welcome message for the thousands of athletes, team officials an spectators arriving for the sporting event.
Scotland’s Minister for External Affairs and International Development Humza Yousaf said, “Our airports are the first opportunity visitors have to get an impression of what Scotland is like and we really want them to know how excited we are to be hosting the Commonwealth Games this year.”
There will even be a 14 metre high billboard at each airport including imagery of where the Queen’s Baton Relay has been on its journey to reach Glasgow.
Glasgow 2014 chief executive, David Grevemberg said, “The airports will be the first place many of our athletes, officials and supporters will see when they arrive in the country for the Games and what a great impression they will get. To be greeted by these vibrant images and messages will create excitement for what is in store.”
