The awarding of a sum of money to a local bowls club by the airports charity is a great piece of news according to the Car Hire Glasgow Airport branch. They hope the children get lots of practice to challenge some of the senior members to a game.
What a good gesture by the FlightPath Fund at Glasgow Airport to the Paisley Indoor bowling Club. There was a donation of £400 to give young bowls players aged eight to sixteen a chance to use their own set of bowls balls rather than borrowing off older members at the club.
The money has been used to purchase five sets of bowls balls for the children, with Labour councillor Sam Mullin, who sits on the funding council at the club saying, “It is great to see these young players develop the skills which allow them to compete at a high level as they grow older.”
Coach and club director Alex Baird said “Many young people who take up the sport continue to participate throughout their life and it is important to learn the right technique early.”
