With the summer of sport in full swing, London Heathrow Airport has this week announced that it is an official tournament provider of the Rugby World Cup 2015.
There is little less than a month to go until the finest rugby players in the world come together to compete for the Web Ellis Cup, with the first match between England and Fiji kicking off on 18 September 2015.
London Heathrow Airport is preparing to welcome the majority of the supporters, around 500,000 in total, from all corners of the globe. The participating teams will also be passing through the airport’s terminals as they make their way to one of the thirteen stadiums that will be playing host to the Rugby World Cup, including the Millennium Stadium, Twickenham Stadium, The Stadium Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Wembley Stadium.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding what’s set to be a record breaking tournament and the appointment of a globally recognised brand such as Heathrow Airport joining the list of sponsors will further underscore the appeal of the Rugby World Cup in the sporting marketplace.
Brett Gosper, world rugby chief executive commented on the new sponsorship from Heathrow Airport:
“We are delighted to welcome another brand sector leader to the international family of Rugby World Cup 2015 commercial partners. Heathrow is a globally renowned brand and its appointment underscores the enormous brand appeal of Rugby World Cup.”
